My Story
I have always known that I wanted to be an entrepreneur. As a child, I used to sell popcorn and Kool-Aid to my neighbours at the end of my parents’ driveway. Looking back, it seems that was the seed of a life-long need to work with people in making a difference in their lives.
I started my post-secondary education in Business Administration, graduated in July 1996 and began my career in the financial services sector in 1998. In 2006, there was a boom in the Sudbury mining sector and my role as an assistant manager was growing tiresome for me; I needed a change. By the middle of that year, I completed the necessary training to work underground in mining operations, and I also married the love of my life, Melanie.
However, after surviving a few dangerous incidents during drilling projects, it became clear that mining was not the career path for me. I transitioned into the sheet metal trade, which ironically lead me back to working on underground ventilation projects for two years. It was while I was working on an expansion job for the SNO Lab, that I was inspired to pursue a career as a mortgage agent. I was determined to get back into financial services where I could help people achieve their goals and stay much cleaner after the workday was over!
I earned my mortgage agent license in the spring of 2008, and despite my part-time beginnings, I was focused on being a full-time agent. I worked on mortgages evenings and weekends until 2014 when I resigned from my job in sheet metal and embarked on my journey of being a full-time mortgage agent. In January 2017, I completed my mortgage broker course and received my mortgage broker license.
As a mortgage broker, I take great pride in helping my clients achieve their goals. I do not just see myself as a mortgage broker; I see myself as a partner who seeks the best possible outcome for my clients. Their best interest is always at heart in everything I do.
Family and Community
Growing up in Valley East, I have developed a passion for serving families in the Greater Sudbury area. My wife Melanie and I have been blessed with two beautiful children, Ryersonand Reagan. Along with our dog Zoe, we live a very happy family life.
When I am not in the office working for HQ Mortgages, I spend my time volunteering with the Knights of Columbus or coaching various sports for Valley Minor Hockey, Valley East Minor Baseball, Valley East Soccer Club or Greater Sudbury Ball Hockey Association.
